The Caribbean Queen

Today was a chance for all squads to recuperate and enjoy the hospitality of the Caribbean Queen; a large catamaran armed with plenty of Antiguan food and ice cold drinks.

After a well deserved lie in, we set sail from Jolly Harbour for the high seas, and we were soon treated to some spectacular views of the Antiguan coastline. Needless to say with the Head of Geography on board, we were also treated to some key term revision. No-one expected a heated debate about a man-made tombolo.

With the sun beaming down and the tunes turned up, the Caribbean Queen soon became a mobile disco...

...but for those seeking out shade inside, the crew started a game of indoor boat tennis. Alice White and Sophie Arnold stood out in particular with their clever angles and powerful smashes!

We soon approached our first stop; a beautiful reef, teeming with a wonderful array of colourful fish...and what better way to see them, than up, close and  personal with flippers, mask and snorkel.

Safely back on board, we were treated to some traditional Antiguan food including plantian, squash and Jerk chicken, before we set sail again for a nearby beach. But, this was not time for sunbathing...this was a full on game of beach cricket using bats made of driftwood.

After 6 hours on our crusing catamaran it was time to head back to Jolly Beach. The Carribean Queen had delivered a royally good day. God bless all who sail her.
